THE CHORDS WE STRIKE is a video presentation created to significantly contribute to the ongoing debate within the Churches of Christ regarding the intermittent acceptance and consistent rejection of musical instruments in spiritual contexts such as worship. Although rooted in biblical exegesis, the presentation takes a holistic approach to music, examining its origins and exploring the psychological, neurological, and physiological motivations behind it. Additionally, it considers the powerful influence that music has on cultures around the world.

This discourse includes traditional methods of interpreting key biblical texts related to music and singing within the spiritual paradigm. A unique aspect of this approach is the careful distinction between music or singing and worship itself. Narrated by Dr. E. D. Allen, a theologian and member of the Lord’s Church, the presentation seeks to guide believers toward clarity and unity while glorifying God.
